Bill Windsor was born and raised in Olds, graduating from the Olds Senior High School in the matriculation program. He spent the following two years in Red Deer attending Red Deer College in a Bachelors of Science program. He then transferred to Calgary enrolled at the University of Calgary for the following two years to complete his secondary education majoring in biochemistry. During the summer months of the four years he spent in college and university he worked as a labourer for Parkland Oilfield Services out of Olds.

2004 to date - 7 grandchildren of various ages (fishing, hunting, outdoor education)

In 2008 Bill's residence was annexed into the Town of Didsbury.
